Robert Ivy-Noel Polk Award Honoree

Robert Ivy, an Executive VP and CEO of The American Institute of Architects, has received the Noel Polk Lifetime Award. The award was issued by a Institute of Arts and Letters in Mississippi. This award is typically given to residents of Mississippi who are connected artists and art patrons who did a lifetime work of creating, performing, and supporting art. Robert Ivy previously worked for Architectural Record as editor in chief and has received several awards as well as a National Magazine Award. Robert Ivy was previously named a Master Architect by a fraternity named Alpha Rho Chi.

Robert Ivy is also a writer, author, and commentator on architecture around the world. For this reason, Robert has been added to the list of Noel Polk Lifetime Achievement Award honorees. Robert Ivy has attended the University of the South and has earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. Robert has also attended Tulane University and earned a Master of Architecture degree. Robert has completed a biography called ‘Fay Jones: Architect’ and it is in its third edition.

Robert is one of many architects who are practicing around the world including in China and Canada. Robert has also received the Dean’s Medal. Before he was an architect, Robert served in the U.S. Navy.

Robert has also received the Crane Award, which is the highest recognition for his lifetime contributions. Robert is a member of the international Circle of Architecture Critics. He is now serving on the advisory boards of architecture schools such as Auburn University’s Rural Studio, Mississippi State University, Tulane University, and Tongji University School of Architecture in Shanghai, China. For all of his hard work globally, he definitely deserves to be a Noel Polk Lifetime Achievement Award honorees.
